About This Eco Friendly Brand.
" I believe as a designers we all have a responsibility to use sustainable materials and manufacture products in ways that have minimal impact on ourselves and the environment. What we buy matters and how we use it makes a difference to the environment and our lives." - Emilie O'Connor
I have three children. I come from England, where I studied theatre design at Central Saint Martins, when I left I worked as a set designer, stylist and Art director on TV commercials, in theatre and for a circus. Along side this I created a textile studio in West London , 009textiles with a friend, Gopali. The design studio produced mainly textiles to commission, work included fabrics for Liberty London, Rupert Sanderson, Soho House, Tate Modern and the Bafa's club.
My work has featured in numerous magazines including UK Vogue, and won Best British Fabric Design by Elle Decoration.
When I moved to Australia I realised that there where too many things being made and brought without thinking what impact they have on the environment .My aim with creating Emilie OConnor Homestore is to build an Eco friendly Homewares and lifestyle Brand that uses design to contribute back to the environment. Enabling us to live more consciously and with lighter food print.
